DESCRIPTION
     manpages search and display multilingual manuals of a few UNIX systems
     (see foot page) from database of more than 1500000 manuals.

     In this manual the appellations:
      OS design an operating X system.
      dir design a virtual path X.
      man design a manual X.
      1 design a section

     Formats:
      html  - colored rendering
      txt   - simple rendering

     Two ways to browse the database have been developed:
      Navigation by link
       From the OS to the manual in few mouse click

      Research:
        manpages searches a manual and displays the first result.
        As appropriate, some links to manuals related to the research are
        available (language, categories).
        If no manual has been found according to the choice of language, the
        original manuel will be displayed.
        If no manual has been found according to the choice of categorie, the
        research will extend at all categories.
        If no manual has been found and that the section exists, the software
        will display a list of manuals of this section with a short
        description.

     Install the search add-on:
      The search add-on allow to search manuals from the compatible browser
      toolbar or page.

      Syntax: man(1)
              man

EXAMPLES
     1) Navigation by links
       /man/pages/OS/dir/man.1.txt  - displays the manual man(1) colorless.
       /man/pages/OS/dir/man.1.html - displays the manual man(1) colorled.
       /man/pages/OS/dir/           - displays the manual "dir" with a short
                                      description.
       /man/pages/OS/               - display the categories of the OS.

     2) Research
        To display a manual, one must choose a OS so the search form is
        available.

        /man/pages/OS/apropos?man=man&section=0&format=html
          Seeking all the "man" in different sections of the OS.
          Display according to the "html" format.
        /man/pages/OS/apropos?man=man&section=0&format=txt
          Seeking all the "man" in different sections of the OS.
          Display according to the "txt" format.
        /man/pages/OS/apropos?man=man&section=1&format=html
          Seek "man" in the section 1 the OS.
          Display according to the "html" format.
        /man/pages/OS/apropos?man=man&section=1&format=txt
          Seek "man" in the section 1 de OS.
          Display according to the "txt" format.
        /man/pages/OS/apropos?man=0&section=1
          Displays the manuals section 1 with a short description
        /man/pages/OS/apropos?man=0&section=0
          Display the categories the OS

BUGS
     Problem in displaying the different caracter set.
     The display according to HTML format is not always coherent.
